Description of Service
Barrland Court is a Very Sheltered Housing Development situated in Giffnock and generally aimed at those who are frail and elderly. Individual with specific needs that can be met by the support team are also encouraged to apply.
Each service user, upon taking up a tenancy with Arklet Housing Association will have a Housing Support Plan tailored to meet their needs, and will receive a written agreement that clearly defines the service provided to meet the individuals needs. Each property at Barrland Court is fitted with a call alarm system that is monitored onsite during the hours of 7am to 10pm, outwith these hours when KolCare are onsite but on sleep over the call alarm switches over to Bield Community Alarm Service and they contact the KolCare team member when required to attend during sleep over hours.

Ø Safety of dwelling
Ø Providing and maintaining the emergency warden alarm system
Ø Assisting in the reporting of repairs
Ø Arranging Adaptations
Ø Fire Safety
Ø Compliance with tenancy agreements
Ø Dealing with neighbour disputes
Ø Assisting with minor repairs
Ø Assisting in claiming benefits
Ø Liaison with relations
Ø Organising access to professional help
Ø Resettlement activities
Ø Chatting with residents/quests
Ø Good neighbour welfare checks
Ø Arranging social events
Ø Support with cleaning, laundry and shopping.
Ø Controlling access for trademen, cleaners lift engineers etc.
Personal Care Services Available
Ø Assistance with bathing and dressing
Ø A tuck in service
Ø Medication prompting
Ø Assistance with breakfast
Personal care services are subject to social work assessment and can be tailor made to an individual.
Examples of when this is sometimes required: –
Ø Tenants returning from hospital and may require an increase in support for a period of time during recovery.
Ø Tenant wishing to return home to receive palliative care instead of remaining in hospital.
Within Barrland Court there is also self contained unit of 4 rooms that has its own dedicated support team who provide an enhanced support package to individuals who require a more secure support setting.Barrland Court
