A Success Story

The Association would like to extend a resounding welcome to the new tenants who transferred over from GHA on 27 June 2011.  We look forward to working with these new tenants on the issues which affect them, their families and their homes.

Over the coming months it is the Association’s intention to integrate the new homes which have passed over from GHA into the Association’s long term maintenance plans.  This will see the production of a 5 year investment plan covering all 900 units of the Association’s combined housing stock.

The yes vote and the sucessful transfer demonstrates not just support for a local service but represents a clear vote for the model of local control and accountability offered by Housing Associations.   We would also like to take this opportunity to remind all tenants that by paying a £1 membership fee you can become a shareholder of the Association and, should you so wish, stand for election to the Management Committee.  The members of the Management Committee are all local residents who have a vested interest in the neighbourhood.  Being on the committee allows residents to play a part in the running of the Association, including making decisions on its policies, procedures and staff.
