The Modernised Right to Buy

The Housing (Scotland) Act 2001 extended the Right to Buy (RTB) to most tenants of non-charitable Registered Social Landlords (RSL) who occupied a property that was built or acquired by the RSL prior to September 2002.  The RTB was however suspended until September 2012, this is often referred to as the '10 year suspension'.  The Act also allowed RSL's to apply for a further extension to this 10 year period from September 2012.

Calvay's Board of Management has decided that it is in the best interests of the Association to make an application to the Scottish Government for a further extension of the suspension of the modernised RTB until 2012.  If you would like more information on this subject please do not hesitate to contact a member of staff, or if you wish to download a copy of the full application please follow this link
