How Do I Bid For Properties

auchendarroch

If you are interested in a property, you should consider whether it is the size and type that you require. If you are on the list for a 3 bedroom house, you won't be considered for a 2 bedroom property, for example. If you are on the list for a 2 bedroom, but decide to bid for a 3 bedroom property, you are only likely to be successful, if no one who needs a 3 bedroom bids for it.

You should try and match your application with the properties you choose to bid for. For example, the things that should match up are :

  • House size Your household size should match the number of bedrooms in the property.
  • General needs/amenity/adapted - You will have been placed on either the general needs, amenity (elderly or mobility impaired) or adapted list. Each property will be classified as one or other of these depending on what facilities or adapatation it offers.
  • Floor level -  If you have stated you cannot manage higher floor levels, you wouldn't be considered for an upper flat. Ground floor or level access properties, will be let to people with mobility impairment.

If you are not sure what you have applied for, you can obtain a detailed statement from any of the ICHR partners.

We will be very clear when we advertise a property of any restrictions or conditions that will apply. If you bid for properties that do not match what you have applied for, you will not be successful.

How To Bid

Bidding just means letting us know you are interested in being considered for a property.

You can bid by phone, text, by email or in person to any of the ICHR partners. You may wish to contact the association that owns the property that you wish to bid for as they may be able to answer any questions you have about the property. Full contact details are given below.

To bid, you will need to quote your application reference number and the reference number of the property you wish to bid for. You need to bid before the deadline advertised as if you are too late, you will not be considered.

You should only bid for a property if you are sure you would accept an offer if you were successful. If you refuse two offers of accommodation, your application will be suspended from the joint list for one year.
