What is Wider Role?
The term wider role applies to activities which go beyond the standard provision, improvement and management of housing with the aim of improving the economic, social and environmental circumstances of the Hillhead community.

Despite the cutbacks in Government Funding we have also been able to make a commitment to continue providing our welfare rights service and tenancy support services to tenants for at least another year. A proportion of this year’s rent increase has enabled us to make up the shortfall in grant assistance from the Scottish Government’s Wider Role Fund. In a year when lots of changes to the Benefits System are planned, our Management Committee believe it would not make sense to wind up the service. And judging by the increasing number of clients that Moira has, the need is greater than ever.
