The Association will shortly be preparing the report to the Management Committee on the rent increase from April 2017. It is very important that you have your say to affect the decision taken. The income from rent pays for the Association to carry out the landlord services that we provide to you and for your home to be maintained, now and in the future. Tenants’ views on our services and where we should spend our resources have been taken into account in drawing up our budget. We are now looking for feedback on the rent increase which will affect the majority of tenants.

The first report on Oak Tree HA's performance against key charter outcomes was sent out in October 2014. "This report was developed with tenants and reflected what they wanted to see in it" said Nick Jardine, OTHA's Group Director. "We would like to thank all those who filled in the survey and came to our meetings as they helped us produce a better report. We hope tenants will feedback what they thought of it so we can make it even better next year."
Nick added "For the first time, tenants can find out how their landlord compares to other landlords in Scotland using the Scottish Housing Regulator's online tools. We have put information on our performance in the report, but if you want to know more, check out our Charter or tenant scrutiny pages. We are happy to take any comments on our service or answer any questions that you may have as part of our conversation with tenants."

Oak Tree Housing Initiatives – Private Sector Lets delivered with the Oak Tree Style
Oak Tree Housing Association Ltd has a track record of developing and managing good quality homes in Inverclyde in the social rented sector. In partnership with Inverclyde Council, we have formed a subsidiary to help bring empty homes back into use and provide stable homes for people in the private sector. This has been piloted recently and is now operational.
We are working with private sector owners to identify empty good quality properties to make available to let. Grant and loan funding may be available to help bring them up to a suitable standard.
The Inverclyde Common Housing Register has more than 4000 applicants seeking rehousing in Inverclyde. The number of new applicants each year exceeds the number of lets for all the social landlords put together so the housing association’s cannot satisfy the demand. More than 75% of people seeking rehousing will be disappointed and will not be able to access a house with one of the social rented sector landlords. We want to expand the options open to people who may have little choice open to them by improving their options in the private sector.
More information is available in our document library.
