OTHI Private Sector Lettings Service

OTHI Private Sector Lettings Service

The Association has been working with Inverclyde Council to bring empty private sector properties back into use. The Council provided access to some funding to carry out necessary repairs. OTHI, a wholly owned non-profit distributing subsidiary of Oak Tree Housing Association, provides lettings and management services using the full resources of a large housing association and its partnerships with a range of agencies.

It is not planned to take on any more new properties at the moment, but from time to time properties may become available if the current tenant moves on. All applicants who have submitted a form will be considered automatically. Advice on how to apply for an OTHI let and what the OTHI service will offer tenants in the private sector can be obtained from the Inverclyde Common Housing Register Home in the offices of Oak Tree Housing Association.

This initiative aims to provide stable tenancy arrangements at below market value to people in the private rented sector. This increases the range of housing options open to people in Inverclyde. It complements our work on the Inverclyde Common Housing Register to find suitable accommodation for people that meets their needs.

More information and an application from can be found from the links below. Contact OTHA directly for more details or a surgery appointment to discuss your housing options.

OTHI aims to:

  • Increase the opportunities open to people who are seeking housing by increasing the overall number of properties available to let;

  • Use the resources of the Inverclyde Common Housing Register to find tenants looking for stable affordable housing and match them to the properties available;

  • Provide stable long term tenancy arrangements priced at below market rent levels;

  • Access properties in areas and in house types where access to rented housing is limited;

  • Use the resources of a large housing association to provide quality management services that not only meet legislative and good practice standards, but deliver extra services in supporting tenants and owners to meet the terms of their agreement to rent;

  • Give owners who may be apprehensive about letting their property the confidence to do so and provide access to funding in partnership with Inverclyde Council to bring empty properties back into use.
