Living In Your Home

We have changed how we deliver our Housing Management Services, which means up to July, there will be two distinct teams each with 2 Housing Officers and a Housing Assistant. Both teams will be supported by a Clerical Officer and 2 Clerical Assistants.

Within each team one Housing Officer (HO) will be making sure your neighbourhood is an attractive place to live, dealing with any anti social behaviour and generally supporting you in your tenancy. The other will be responsible for giving advice on your rent account and recovering any rent which is not paid.

The Housing Assistants (HA's) will give housing advice. let our empty properties and carry out close inspections.

To find out which staff member will assist you, please see the table below.

Estate Management Inspections.

Your Housing Assistant is out in their areas regularly and are checking –

  • Gardens
  • Closes
  • Back-courts
  • Common Areas

These inspections highlight any problems in the area immediately, particularly in relation to litter, graffiti and repairs. The problems are rectified as soon as possible to ensure that your environment is a clean and tidy one.

Upon inspection, if your Housing Officer identifies the condition of your common areas as unsatisfactory, they will try to speak to the tenant/owner while doing the visit, issue letters, introduce a close cleaning rota where required and monitor for improvement.

If your close doesn’t currently have a close cleaning rota and you feel it would be beneficial, you can make a request to your Housing Officer for one to be introduced.

Neighbour Complaints

Paisley South Housing Association aims to deal with neighbour complaints in a sympathetic, fair and confidential manner. Our staff will firstly encourage residents to resolve their issues themselves without the formal involvement of the Association. If you feel you have a complaint which you wish the Association to deal with you should contact your Housing Assistant without delay. It is essential that you telephone the Police at the time of the incident remembering to take a note of the time and date as we can ask for a Police Report. This information can be helpful in confirming your complaint. You may also wish to contact the Renfrewshire Council’s Help Line number 0800 169 1283 who will give you advice about what services to contact and will notify the Association of your contact. You also may wish to contact the Renfrewshire Council’s Warden Service which operates in all of our areas Telephone number - 0141 889 3499

We will acknowledge and keep you updated on your complaint. Any tenant who is unhappy with the way in which the Association has dealt with a complaint may raise a complaint under the Association’s Complaints Procedure.

Tenant Satisfaction

Following a complaint being resolved the Association will request tenants complete a brief satisfaction survey. The results of which will help us to improve any aspects of our estate management and neighbour nuisance complaints service.

Permission to keep a pet

The Association’s Tenancy Agreement states that a tenant must seek permission to have a pet and where permission is granted the tenant is responsible for ensuring the pet does not cause nuisance to neighbours.

You must always check with the Association and obtain permission, BEFORE you bring a dog into your home. The Association does not allow dogs within our high rise property.
If you would like to request permission to keep a pet, click here, complete and return the form.

Any complaints made regarding nuisance caused by a pet will be dealt within the same way as other nuisance complaints. The outcome may be that you are required to rehome your pet.
