Living In Your Home

RESPECT FOR OTHERS

The Association hopes that are able to enjoy your home and find it to be a safe and comfortable place.  Unfortunately at times there may be incidents which occur with neighbours or within the neighbourhood which cause you distress.

The Association has a Neighbour Complaints Policy and aims to address issues as soon as possible.  Residents will be encouraged, where appropriate, to resolve issues with neighbours directly, however, there will be times when this may not be appropriate and the Association will provide a consistent and prompt response to any complaints.

If you make a complaint and the Association is dealing with it, you will be kept up to date with the progress.

Please contact your Housing Officer if you wish to discuss any problems regarding anti-social behaviour or any tenancy issue.

ESTATE INSPECTIONS

Your Housing Officer is out in the area regularly and is checking –

  • Gardens
  • Closes
  • Back-courts
  • Common Areas

These inspections highlight any problems in the area immediately, particularly in relation to litter, graffiti and repairs.  The problems are rectified as soon as possible to ensure that your environment is a clean and tidy one.

HOUSE CONTENTS INSURANCE

Your belongings are not insured against fire, theft or water damage by Pineview.  If you haven’t thought properly about insurance cover, you could be in for a shock!  SFHA Diamond Insurance Scheme offers insurance to tenants of Registered Social Landlords at competitive prices.

You can Insure Against

  • Fire
  • Theft
  • Vandalism
  • Water damage
  • Other household risks

If you would like to find out more about Home Contents Insurance, then please ask at reception for an application form or contact the company direct on 0845 601 6006.

DOGS

The Association has a Dog Policy.  This limits the number of dogs and the type of dogs which are permitted.

You must always check before with the Association and obtain permission, BEFORE you bring a dog into your home.

You can download an application to apply to register a dog at Important Documents.

CHANGES IN THE TENANCY

If you wish to:-

  • Take in a Lodger;
  • Sub-let your property;
  • Assign the tenancy(pass on the tenancy to someone else);
  • Carry out a mutual exchange

You must contact the office to receive information on the policies and procedures for all of the above and receive our written permission for any request made before any changes are carried out.
