Paying Your Rent

Pineview Housing Association encourages all our tenants to pay their rent in full and on time.  Rents are due to be paid 4 weekly, in advance.  For tenants who wish to pay monthly, you should negotiate this with your Housing Officer.  An example of how to work out your monthly rent is: average 4 weekly rent for a 3apt flat = £219.78 x 13 ÷ 12 = monthly figure of £238.10 to be paid by 28th of each month

Swipe Cards

Rents can be paid using your Allpay Swipe Card at any Post Office or wherever there is a ‘PayPoint’ sign displayed, or online at www.allpay.net.  If you lose your card, contact the office for a replacement.  We can issue a giroslip until your rent card arrives.

Standing Order

Some tenants like to pay their rent by Standing Order as they find it more convenient and helpful when budgeting their household income.

Standing Orders can be set up to make fixed payments 4 weekly, monthly or weekly, whichever you prefer.

If you would like more information about this please contact your Housing Officer.

By Cheque

You can also make a payment by cheque.  This should be sent directly to the Association, ensuring that your name and address are clearly written on the back.

WHAT IF I CAN’T PAY MY RENT?

Sometimes tenants experience difficulties in paying their rent.

If this is the case, it is advisable to contact your Housing Officer immediately as experience has shown that the earlier these problems are dealt with, the easier they are to resolve.

Our staff will do all that they can to assist any tenant who find themselves in this situation. Your Housing Officer will discuss your circumstances with you in confidence and help set up a payment plan in order to maintain a reasonable payment to your arrears.

We can also put you in touch with other organisations who can give you advice about any debt that is worrying you, not just your rent.

HOUSING BENEFIT

Some tenants will have their rent paid fully by Housing Benefit.  If you do not receive Housing Benefit and feel that you may be entitled to this please contact the Association, where staff will be happy to advise you.

If you receive, or are applying for Housing Benefit, it is important that you contact Glasgow City Council Housing Benefit section on 0141 287 1000, to report any changes in circumstances.  This will ensure that you will receive the Housing Benefit that you are entitled to and will reduce the possibility of you being overpaid/underpaid.  The onus is always upon you to ensure that your Housing Benefit is in payment and that all information is provided when asked for.  If your Housing Benefit is stopped for any reason, then you are responsible to pay the full rental charge for your property.

WELFARE BENEFITS ADVISOR

The Association provides a Welfare Benefits surgery each Friday (alternates between Rozelle & Waverley Offices).  If you feel that you require help, not just with Housing Benefit, please contact the Association to make an appointment.
