Tenant Participation and Wider Role
The Association considers that they have a role to play in the wider community and that we are not just there to let out houses.
As part of this additional role, we try to encourage tenants to participate as much as they wish to. We also work with other Housing Associations and agencies working in Drumchapel to try to help bring about change in relation to social issues. Each year we prepare a strategy which tenants are consulted on and a budget is set aside each year for this additional work.
The way that we consult and inform you includes the following:

- Public Meetings
- Phase Meetings
- Consultation Papers
- Satisfaction Surveys
- This website
We have also tried to establish a Registered Tenants Organisation and Tenants Panel for consultation issues but to date have been unsuccessful. If you would be interested in forming a Registered Tenants Organisation or a Tenants Panel, please contact Gillian Bell.
In terms of Wider Role we recently prepared in conjunction with the other RSLs in Drumchapel a Wider Role Strategy and we are currently seeking funding from the Scottish Government in this respect. The priorities that we have identified are as follows:
- Community Safety and Crime Reduction initiatives to tackle vandalism, anti-social behaviour and crime.
- Education/training/employment initiatives for young people.
- Financial Awareness initiatives to reduce debt and arrears.
We will update this section as and when we have information on progress with these initiatives.
