Phase 2 Nears Completion!

Works are still continuing well on site with our second newbuild development, and handover of 13 properties has now taken place. The first few tenants have met with our Housing Officers to sign agreements and moved into their homes in early February.
We were pleased to welcome Mr and Mrs Burke and their daughters to their new home recently. Mrs Burke is the daughter of our late Chairperson Jean Mitchell who would be delighted that they are in a house suited to their needs. Mr and Mrs Burke are pictured with one of their daughters Emma outside their new house with Elspeth Sharkey, Housing Manager, Stephen Tait, Property Services Officer and Liz Bauer, Housing Officer.
It is anticipated that the remaining 13 houses will be ready for hand over in the coming weeks and all houses should be back by late March. Tenants for these properties have all been identified.
We have encouraged tenants to put their own personal touch into their new homes, through them being able to choose paint colours for rooms, as well as pick kitchen fittings and worktops.
The scheme is made up of 26 units including two family sized houses for wheelchair users, eight terraced villas and 16 cottage flats,
Also within the development are new roads, traffic calming measures and greenspace.
