02 June 2010
Rural Stirling
Work is progressing well on the new housing development being built in Leny Road, Deanston, for Rural Stirling Housing Association by Robertson Construction of Stirling. The development consists of 14 houses; 2 one-bedroom bungalows, 7 two-bedroom houses, 4 three-bedroom houses and 1 four-bedroom house. It is anticipated that the properties will be ready for let by April 2011.
The Housing Association also has plans to build 53 flats and houses for rent in Doune. Most of the houses will be built in the site adjacent to where Miller Homes is building houses for sale. The development will comprise:
8 two-person, one-bedroom flats;
8 four-person, two-bedroom flats;
18 four-person, two-bedroom terraced and semi-detached houses;
8 five-person, three-bedroom terraced and semi-detached houses;
4 six-person, three-bedroom semi-detached houses;
4 four-person amenity bungalows.
In addition, three wheelchair accessible properties (one 2-bedroom and two three-bedroom) will be built in the old sawmill site behind Balkerrach Street.
The development has been designed for the association by Glenn Murray & Associates of Dunblane to meet 'housing for varying needs' standards and to achieve 'secure by design' accreditation. The houses and flats will incorporate the following features to ensure energy efficiency and sustainability: high levels of roof and wall insulation; gas central heating with condensing combi boilers; dedicated low-energy light fittings; water butts, tap flow restrictors and dual flushing toilets.
Detailed plans for the site layout at Doune can be viewed by clicking here, or at our office. You can also view detailed house elevations and layouts.
The exact start date is dependant on the availability of Scottish Government Housing Association Grant, but it is anticipated that work will start on site in Autumn 2011 and be carried out in phases.
